The statewide law firm of Pathman Schermer Tandy, LLP is pleased to announce that Julie Dick has joined the firm as a senior counsel. She has more than 12 years of experience in environmental, water, land use, climate change, energy, resilience, and sustainability related matters. Dick represents businesses, developers, local governments, and individuals in these areas.
Dick has extensive experience representing clients before administrative and regulatory bodies at the municipal, state, and federal levels. She has been involved in climate change adaptation, resilience, and comprehensive planning efforts, and water and land use matters in multiple counties across South Florida. She has worked with clients to develop regulatory and policy strategies for the deployment of clean energy and infrastructure electrification. Dick’s experience includes advising investors on environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks and opportunities, including climate change risk due diligence.
Dick’s litigation experience includes multiple high-profile multi-million dollar cases, including Clean Water Act and toxic tort litigation. She has been involved in Everglades restoration projects, dredge and fill matters, National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permitting, and marine zoning. She has also worked extensively on National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) analysis and solid waste issues, including Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and toxic tort matters.
She frequently lectures on sustainability, resilience, climate change and water related topics.
Dick received her J.D. with honors, Certificate in Environmental and Energy Law, from Chicago-Kent College of Law, Chicago, Illinois in 2007. She received her BA from Kalamazoo College in Political Science, with a concentration in Environmental Studies in 1999. Dick attended Universidad San Francisco de Quito, environmental studies focused study abroad program in San Rafael, Ecuador in 1998.
